A few weeks ago we made a Saturday visit to the coast to meet some friends (and Theo's BFF, Elli). It was supposed to be 70 degrees, so I made sure to bring a sweater, extra hats, socks, scarves, and coats. It's always a lot colder on the coast than you think. But to my surprise, the weather was beautiful and we all got a little sunburned. No one else did, but of course the Halls are extra sensitive to any sunlight. My friend Cathleen and I are due days apart, and nothing feels as good as stretching your large-bellied self out in the sun while we made the husbands chase the kids. Theo loved flying our kite and chasing the waves, although he has developed a sand-walking intolerance since last summer. That surprised me, but he also started eating rocks so I guess I shouldn't be surprised by anything he does lately.
